Walk Through The Bible
Wednesday 12:00 Noon (Power Hour) and Evening  at 7:00 p.m. for all ages.
Recognizing that every believer needs to be grounded in the truths of God’s Word.  Our current study is from the Book of James.   This study will include different Bible passages each week, with questions, an  overview and spiritual exercises.  The study is a valuable way to understand the content and themes of the Old and New Testament books. These times of in-depth study are both encouraging, informative and equipping members to better know and serve God.

Committed to Prayer, Praise and Worship
As a church family, we know that prayer cannot be overestimated and it moves the hand of God, in addition to high praise and worship.  New Zion Baptist Church is a body of believers who are dependent upon prayer and committed to God’s sovereignty.  Each Sunday morning during worship service, we have intercessory prayer for the ministry of the Word, our church family, any special requests, bereaved families, sick and shut-in, our men and women serving in the armed forces as well as their families, community, nation and the world.  This also takes place each Wednesday prior to Bible study at 6:00 p.m.

Sunday School

Did you know that our Sunday School is more than just a “school” where you sit and listen to lectures?  It’s a Bible study with practical application; an open window of opportunity for ministry and outreach; and it’s interaction with members and friends who encourage and support each other.  Won’t you join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 p.m. and experience the excitement of becoming a disciple through Bible Study.

  Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood (ages 18-35). There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships and a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of New Zion provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Western Regional Youth Conference, which are held annually among the states within the region.

Mission Outreach

New Zion Baptist Church is thrilled to be a part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the community and the nation.  We are actively supporting various ministries, local sister churches, the military, our shut-in members with Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Boxes, send cards of encouragement, love offerings, visitations and pray for and with them.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they have to move to a foreign country or minister in our own community.

Music and Drama

God-honoring worship is something we strive for.  Many church members are involved in our Music and Drama Ministries.  Some play their instruments, some  are  vocalists,  while  others  are involved in the choirs (Mass, Male, Women’s, and Youth).  The Drama Ministry members perform in various Easter and Christmas plays as well as other activities and events.  The choirs come together during the Christmas holiday season to host the annual Christmas Cantata.  These volunteers are an important part of New Zion, using their gifts and talents to glorify God.

Ushers

The Usher’s Ministry at New Zion fills an important role.  They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, assisting visitors, answering questions, providing direction and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free.  The Usher’s Ministry is a servant-hearted group of men, women, young adults and youth whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the Gospel is a privilege of New Zion Baptist Church.  In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools advantageously for kingdom purposes.  Our Facebook account is currently being reconstructed to assist our members and community in “getting connected … being connected … staying connected” with the various programs, events, activities, ministries and meetings within the church and affiliated associations.  Preparations are underway to upload our weekly Sunday Worship sermons to our website in video formats in the near future.
